There are representatives from different sectors, all different sizes of companies all with one focus of discussion so it’s a fantastic place to network and share ideas.

Rebekah Needham CBRE

It's great for us to know that there's a place where we're going to meet a lot of professionals. It's sometimes very difficult for government to reach out to smaller organizations or people who are just not on our radar, to meet, get new ideas, new perspectives. We've got, in government, a lot of new objectives to get to clean heat by 2030 and to achieve clean power. So the closer we get to that deadline, the more important it is to work together to make it happen, so we will be here again.

Nicolas Perin DESNZ

50% of all of the carbon emissions that we need to reduce as we get to 2050 come from the built environment. It’s from buildings, it’s from construction, it’s from logistics and it’s from infrastructure. So there’s no escaping the destiny here: it has to be the built environment that takes the lead.

Coming to FOOTPRINT+ always gets your head out of your books like you're back at university. It's really valuable if you take the time to meet people.

Even though FOOTPRINT+ is in the UK, it's really great to see so many different companies represented with global footprints. A really important part of bringing together thought-leaders within the UK is that, often we are further ahead, and we can then learn about how we then implement across other parts of Europe or in Asia-Pacific.

I think it’s important to come to an event like FOOTPRINT+ because the right people are in the room. Even if you haven’t planned meetings in advance, you end up connecting with more people than you expected. It’s likely you’ll bump into someone you’ve met before, and there are lots of great spaces here to have meaningful conversations and explore ideas further. You need to be here because all of your industry peers are here

You’ve got the very best the leaders in the industry all in one place, and that’s so hard to get. It’s like a masterclass in two days.

At FOOTPRINT+ we get to access an audience which we normally don’t have. It provides us an audience we might not normally have access to, to promote our materials. People should come to FOOTPRINT+ to have access to such innovation and materials and applications that you won't see anywhere else. It’s a one-stop shop for finding out about ways to improve your projects and working within the built environment, improving your carbon scores.

Legal professionals should come because we play a key role in enabling sustainability. Whether it’s through contract drafting, risk management, or helping our clients navigate complex regulations, we have a real impact. Being here helps ensure we understand the latest standards and goals in the built environment sector.

The personal connections you make here are really, really invaluable. Now if I have a specific question I can contact someone I've met at FOOTPRINT+ that I know will have the answer and talk through ideas.

Between bumping into people and having spontaneous conversations, there’s so much content that you simply won’t be able to take it all in. Know what the key things are that you want to get from the event, because there’s just so much value to be gained from being here.

FOOTPRINT+ is always exciting, full of ideas, full of conversation. We've heard some amazing stories from case studies on planning for waste reduction on really, really sophisticated, pre-demolition, pre-refurbishment auditing. Just conversations between professionals who really care about what they're doing: it's always a buzz, it’s really good.

Chris Clarke Scape

I’m just fascinated to hear the story behind other people. There's lots of stalls and opportunity to see companies, but really, it's the talks that captivate me.

I've come to every FOOTPRINT+ so far and the reason why I want to come, the reason why the Institute of Structural Engineers wants to be here, is so that we can stay at the forefront of what the real estate industry is talking about when it comes to decarbonizing materials, decarbonizing buildings, working in new ways and so on. So, I come to keep my knowledge up to date and to make sure that our members could learn from what's happening here.

Will Arnold IStructE

We really enjoyed being a panel speaker. We had a panel with Material Index, British Land, and Cast Interiors on digitising the circular economy. It was a packed-out audience; it was a full house there. There were some really interesting questions, and we just really enjoyed being part of this conversation.

Having a space here is great, loads of people have come to talk to us, it’s in a great location so we get loads of foot traffic, yesterday we were talking non-stop to people. we gave loads of demo’s - it’s been really great to have a stand and connect.

FOOTPRINT+ brings together a broad array of industry experts in one place to share ideas, to present projects and to really connect with one another around how we’re going to challenge the status quo around sustainability.
What’s great is to see how concepts are being executed in the real world, which gives everyone else a practical understanding around how to achieve the same goals that are being achieved elsewhere. And I think that’s incredibly valuable for me but also for the rest of the industry.

It’s a great event. Coming to FOOTPRINT+ is handy to be able to bump into lots of other people working in this space.
There’s a lot of people with similar problems, similar opportunities and similar goals to us. It’s a really good chance to meet other like-minded people, talk about the things that you’re doing, share the things that they’re doing and then usually get an opportunity to work together as well with the people that come to this event.

I’ve got some great new business leads particularly in terms of tech solutions at the asset level around real estate. I had a couple of innovative new companies who’ve approached me and I'm meeting just good consultants in the marketplace.

FOOTPRINT is drawing a large audience across the built environment in terms of developers, local authorities, the design teams etc so that’s a great place to bring this conversation together and share ideas, hear different things that are going on in the market.

Graham Munday Hydrock

The element that I tend to focus on is that connection between sustainability and the market. It’s really important from a carbon perspective that technically we get things right but we need to ensure that we are delivering something that the market values and that they understand.
