Vitalii Zaichenko has been appointed a Chairman of the Management Board from 1 July 2025. The scope of responsibilities includes strategic management, dispatching, strategic internal, external and international communication, integration with ENTSO-E, Management Board coordination, ESG strategy and sustainable development.
He is responsible for centralised operational and technological control of the IPS of Ukraine, coordination of parallel operation of the IPS of Ukraine with ENTSO-E, ensuring reliable and uninterrupted transmission of electricity from generation to power supply companies, complying with requirements for energy security in Ukraine. He also provides planning of the balancing and operational modes of the IPS of Ukraine.
Vitalii Zaichenko has unique experience in operational and technological control of the power system of Ukraine under extreme conditions: from the isolated operation mode of the IPS of Ukraine in the first weeks of the full-scale russian invasion up to synchronisation of Ukrainian and European power systems during the war.
He started his career of a highly qualified specialist from a position of an engineer of optimisation of electric modes at NPC Ukrenergo back in 1996. He took active part in creating Burshtyn TPP island and possibility of synchronous operation of the IPS of Ukraine with ENTSO-E energy association.
He graduated with a degree in “Power stations engineering” from National Technical University “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.
